In order to be a successful unit, a lift truck needs to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It must be able to transport loads quickly and efficiently too. The machinery needs to be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator as well.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain requires the power to always provide great durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and strong gears. The transmission, engine, steer axle and drive are all isolated to lessen vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
GM & Mazda LP & Gas Engines:
Mazda's LP engine and GM's gas engines use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These machinery provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimal adjustment or repair. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that minimize wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to enhanced torque. Amazing fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all machines. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts which give resistance when driving on rough environment. The durable clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available that automatically adjusts in order to lessen maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which minimizes shock loading, increases durability and extends tire life. Also, the auto deceleration feature reduces break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Designed for extra durability, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This particular part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are entirely sealed against contamination and practically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. Also, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made a lot of safety features and ergonomic features part of their standard packages. These equipment will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
