One of the biggest reasons is to prevent risk of lawsuits if somebody is hurt. Second, mishaps cut down on working time. Thirdly, property and merchandise could be damaged during mishaps. Nearly all mishaps are attributed to staff who are not trained. Employers are responsible for making certain that employees who are using the forklift are trained in risks and safety. Never let anyone on a forklift who isn't trained to use the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a visible place all forklift safety measures.
Rather than going through training because workers are required to, they should have a positive attitude in doing so. You as the employer must help workers understand the importance of proper training. Let them understand that they can injure or kill not just themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to make sure that your staff undertake training seriously.
