The Carriage
Similar to standard lift trucks, the lifting attachment could be tilted from its horizontal position to backwards and forwards. The actual amount of tilt possible totally exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There is a huge variety of lifting attachments offered, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers are capable of tilting forward to a point where the carriage is actually parallel with the ground believe it or not! In addition, lots of units offer rotating carriages as well. This enables the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being able of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The model's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays a really main part, as does the wind, the grade the equipment is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to take into consideration.
Telehandlers would often have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the unit in particular, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
