Over the last decades, the machine has really grown and the designs have evolved so there are many modern designs and various trucks to suit each specific application. Loads are capable of reaching and lifting to greater heights than ever before.

Lift truck models are available in a wide variety of different power types like: gasoline, diesel, electric, diesel and liquid propane or LP models. The load capacities of these units vary significantly as there are a lot of manufacturers designing and building them. For instance, several units are able to reach a height of more than 3000 mm or over 10,000 kg.

The forklift truck features consist of mast and axles, an overhead guard, the counterweight, and the truck frame to which the base of the power source and all aforementioned things are attached. On the back side there is a counterweight attached to the truck. This counterweight counterbalances the cargo which is being carried so as to keep the equipment stable.

The machines movements are dictated by the operator who sits in the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof designed to protect the operator from falling objects. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the frame and the mast. These tilts pivot the mast in order to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly which lifts and lowers the load with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

A lot of businesses and warehouse make use of forklifts on a daily basis to raise and transport goods and supplies. Today, there are a lot of different new and second-hand lift trucks offered in the market at competitive prices.
