Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machinery needs to be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, certain precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
