Reach Truck
In order to keep storage places tidy and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The simplest kind is the stand-up. The forks of the truck slide beneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage location. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are just one pallet in depth.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is similar to the stand-up, is frequently used. This version has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet has to go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not only slide beneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This version is ideal in conditions where goods would not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Inside the majority of warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies utilize different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to utilize and can increase production while making the most of available storage space.
