Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable machinery that allow work to be completed effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system that allows the user to easily calibrate the machine and its parts. System diagnostics are available in many languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 model. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for enhanced performance at higher altitudes. Additionally, it carries more than enough torque for better terrain- and grade-ability.

Optional features on this unit include crab, coordinated, rear wheel and front wheel steering to give the equipment extra agility. on the Z-80/60 helps improve wheel contact on irregular ground. Genie's engine-powered articulating Z-booms are larger than any other Genie units. They feature a continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs which are designed to give the user a much better reach and range of motion. The Z-boom design gives the models outstanding over and up positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 model to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 unit. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively engineered mechanism utilized for retracting and extending axles out and in of stowed position. If the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model equipment is just 2.46 meters. The Z-80/60 has fixed width axles for easier transport.
